The Strand is the musical collaboration between married couple Michelle Djarling (vocals) and Regin Fuhlendorf (guitar).

Both with backgrounds in jazz and songwriting, they found each other later in life – and just before the world shut down.

When the pandemic hit, they suddenly had time to write together. What started in lockdown became a deeper journey through music, love, grief, and healing.

Their debut album reflects that process. Written and recorded while navigating ADHD diagnosis, PTSD recovery, parental loss and the messy beauty of blending a family, the songs hold traces of both struggle and hope – distilled into melody and lyric. If anything, the album stands as a reminder of what they’ve survived, what they’ve discovered, and what they’re still reaching for.

"Let the sadness have it's fight - I'm here with you till shadows slowly die"

The Strand’s debut features guest appearances by Billy Cross and Joey Landreth.

Mixed by Grammy-winner Ryan Freeland (Ray LaMontagne, Bonnie Raitt) and mastered by Kimberly Rosen.

A wide circle of musicians has contributed to the sound:
Henrik Askou (drums), Dan Hemmer (organ, wurlitzer), Christian Douglas & Matthias Petri (bass), Bjarke Falgren (strings), Murray Pulver (backing vocals, musical sparring), Lars Emil Riis Madsen (piano), Christoffer Møller (juno), Peter Marott, Anders Pedersen, Tira Skamby & Carsten Skov (percussion), Lars DK, Mads Mathias & Jennifer Hanson (backing vocals), Philippa Cold & Simon Sumal (opera).
